"Ski" layout and Interview fun!

Hi everybody!  We had a ski trip a week or so ago and love the pictures that came back from the printer.  Sara took a lot of selfies at the top of the mountain, and those were the best!  I'm so in love with Basic Grey's new release, Spice Market.  Had to order the whole line - eek!  Love that swirly circle from Blue Fern Studios too.  Couple of close-ups, then some fun news:

So Stephanie at Skyline Paperie interviewed me last week and posted it at her place yesterday.  She has a cute store with adorable little embellies.  Stop by and take a look:

Well, that's it!  Can't wait to have time to scrap more ski photos.  Thanks for stopping by and hope your day is great!

Here We Go!

Oh, my, I'm so in love with My Mind's Eye Charmed pocket page gold cards!  Lovely!  Also love the Amy Tan words and dies.  The title are the foam words and the XOXO and "Love" are from her new thin dies.  Documenting a day at the lake with the girls and their friends when DH brought them a jet ski to play with.  Thanks for looking!

I linked up with The Memory Nest Crafty Creation links.  Go link your stuff there and see other's work!

Full of Giggles :)

I've had this one sitting around in the dining room forever - I started it, stopped it and then just let it sit!  Was glad to get it all finished up last night and this morning.  Just some fun pictures of Sara and her friend Grace.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a great Monday!

Friends Card - Trying out Gellatos

So I finally got my hands on some Gellatos.  I've been really inspired by Debby Hughes lately.  She makes the loveliest cards.  Her blog is www.limedoodledesign.com.  I wanted to try my hand at one and love the way it turned out.  I'm definitely messier than Debby is.  Anyway, applied gesso to white cardstock then spritzed it with my new spritzer and let it drip down.  Then I embossed "Friends" and some splotches on the front in gold on vellum, sewed the vellum to the Gellatoed cardstock, and added my new feather die and some thread.

I linked this card up with Case Study Challenge #176 - go see all the pretty cards there...

I would love to find more cardmakers like Debby.  Who inspires you on cards?  I need more eye candy :) Thanks for looking!

I participated in Leslie at the Memory Nest's Crafty Creation Link-Up.  Go link up your work and share with others!

Always Remember - a Mini Book

Good morning!  Crate Paper sent a box of stuff that included this mini book I've been wanting very much!  It's been nice working on it a little at a time when I get a chance.  The bling thing in the middle of the front page was picked up at the craft store in the sewing section, and the frame was in the dollar bin.  I just took off the back of it and hot glued it on.  Love it.  The ribbon came from a gift my mom sent so that's nice to have that on there.

The clear cover is a heavy-weight plastic with "Always Remember" at the bottom corner and has  gold-dotted vellum underneath - so pretty!

This book will be a mish-mash of baby pictures and current teen pictures, whatever picture I grab that strikes my fancy.  We have a big box of pictures from when the girls were little, just thrown in all jumbled up from before I went digital, and I'm glad to be doing something with them.

I love the ones below.  I was just going through that box of jumbled pictures as well as some current ones back from the printer.  I noticed that Sara had the same expression as a baby and a teen in both pictures so wanted to scrap them together :)

Well, thanks for looking.  It's definitely one I'll keep working on here and there and will share more in the future.  Have a great day!

P.S.: I'm going to experiment with some link parties I've found and see what happens.  Here are the buttons for them:

Hello Tyrone :)

I just love our guinea pigs.  I never dreamed I would.  It helps they don't have tails, I think.  Sweet Tyrone likes to have a pet from her head down her back.  She won't talk and oink like Mable does, but she enjoys it nonetheless.  This was a white-on-white challenge at A Cherry on Top.  I just got in four new dies from Simon Says and don't know when I'll get tired of using them!  Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great Thursday!

The Memory Nest is having a link-up, so head over and link up your latest creations!  I love that Leslie does those link up days!

Hi everybody!  I will need a little time to delete out the double comments and run through Random.org, so we will have a winner this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Central time - so exciting!  In the meantime, if you can run over to A Cherry On Top's Facebook page and thank them for sponsoring this $50.00 giveaway on my blog, that would be great!

It sounds like so many of you already know and love ACOT, but here's a link for those who may not have visited there.

Here's a page I worked on real quick last night documenting our snow-covered house.  It doesn't snow that much in Texas, but since we've moved into this house five years ago, we seem to get a good covering now and then!  Wanted to capture the house, the lake by the house and the tree with the presents under it.  Sorry for the glare-y, bad pictures - had to take them in the dark!

Okay, I'll see everybody back at 1:00 p.m. Central with a winner!  Have a great day!

Lovely * Sweet

So last night I played around with a little of everything, Crate Bundled Up, Heidi Swapp, Amy Tan and Studio Calico and a Maggie Holmes bow :)  I loved the dotted taupe paper and wanted to pair it with some pink, and this picture of Emily with her ear muffs and furry boots fit right in.  I just love the little bits of Bundled Up!  I need to order more of it  :)

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you have a great Tuesday!

$50 Giveway from A Cherry on Top!

How exciting!  A Cherry on Top is sponsoring a $50.00 shopping spree to a lucky reader of my blog!  I'm really excited for one of you!  I found A Cherry on Top maybe a year or so ago and love it there.  They run specials often and have sweet ladies on the message board and lots of challenges to get you going.  The best part is hunting for cherries (or Christmas ornaments right now!).  Collect the cherries as you browse the merchandise and cash them in for discounts later.  You can also collect cherries for uploading layouts in the gallery, participating on the message board, leaving product reviews, challenges, and for ordering.  The shipping is super fast, and if I ever had a question, I get a fast response.  A perfect place I love to shop and visit!  So I'm thrilled they are offering a reader here a shopping spree of $50.00.

I'll show you my latest addition to the smallest December Daily I'm working on, 2 x 2 square pockets.  I've been working in 3 x 3 pockets, plus a homemade book, all from October Afternoon.  The papers and bits for the 2 x 2 pockets were so cute I had to try it, too, and got an album and sleeves to go along with it.

So follow my blog, and leave a comment telling me what you would shop for if you win the $50.00 shopping spree!  And stay tuned, because I will have another shopping spree in a week or so - ACOT is so generous, they are sponsoring two $50.00 sprees.  I just don't have enough kind words about them.

If you do order, please tell them I sent you.  If  you are a new customer to ACOT and mention my name, I believe we will each get 1,000 cherries, which equals five dollars off your order.  I'm not sure if that program is still running, but it's worth a try. I would like them to know I sent you though.

I love to check there during the day and click the "new products" button and see what is in or what is coming in soon.  Stop by on the message boards and say hi if you like, upload some December Daily or whatever you're working on, too - everyone's super nice.

Well, that's it for today!  Have a really great week and I'll see you tomorrow with another layout.  We'll run the contest this week and wrap it up on Friday.  I'll draw a number from Random.org then forward the winner's info to ACOT so they can credit your account.  Good luck and have fun!

Christmas Wall Hanging

The month I was Guest Designer at A Cherry On Top, I selected Crate's Sleigh Ride to make some things with.  When we moved across country after DH retired from the Marines, we didn't realize it, but all of our Christmas boxes were not to be found.  So each year I try and hand-make a few things to restart a collection. I love bottle brush trees and wanted to use it along with some gifts under the tree.  I knew the picture I had in mind was Emily kissing a doll her grandmother had sent her :)  The frame came from a garage sale and was cheap, shiny gold, so I gessoed it to white wash it and used some gold metallic wash on the scrolly parts.  I love how it came out!  I've recently pulled it out and it's hanging in the living room by the wide red ribbon on top.  Thank you so much to A Cherry On Top for the products!

I would love to see what home decor projects you have made!  Please link them below so we can see :)
